PlayStation Plus is Sony’s online gaming service for the PlayStation 4. It’s needed to play online multiplayer games on the PlayStation 4. You’re playing a competing multiplayer game with a public that you have never met or a co-operative game with your friends who lives a few distance away; you’ll need PlayStation Plus to do it.

Sony has also added some other features to this service. Only PlayStation Plus member can upload their game saves and storing them online where they can be access on another console. PlayStation Plus member gets some free games every month. They also get access to some bonus sales on digital games.

You Need PlayStation Plus for Multiplayer Gaming:

If you need to play online multiplayer games on your PlayStation 4, you’ll need PlayStation Plus. If you effort to use the online multiplayer feature within a game without subscribing first, you’ll see a message advise that you need PS Plus.
